It’s the seventh and final day of this latest Tenner Week challenge, and it’s time to see whether we’ve passed the budgeting test.<\/p>\n

Today’s simple activity is to get some fresh air<\/strong><\/em>, whether that’s going out for a walk or a bike ride, or getting into the garden or out onto the allotment.<\/p>\n

It is, of course, also completely free as well as being a \u00a0handy bit of exercise. Always useful right at the end of some extreme budgeting.<\/p>\n

What’s happening here<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yesterday was very enjoyable. We went into town and looked around the shops before spending our vouchers. As part of that there was free tea and cake at John Lewis, which is a beautiful thing… Then it was on to a screening of White God which was a bit different as well as free, and we rounded things off by having a look at the new sculpture (Gift Horse) on the Fourth Plinth of Trafalgar Square.<\/p>\n

Today I’ll be getting out into the back garden to do some weeding and generally take stock of the place – it’s a wreck right now and it’s time to start making a list of everything that needs doing.<\/p>\n

Also, I’ll be outside cutting various herbs: bay, rosemary, thyme and lemon balm, etc, because we’re doing a Sunday lunch for five people. That includes a rhubarb crumble made with home grown rhubarb (the last frozen batch from last year).<\/p>\n

After that the plan is to retire to the sofa for some rubbish telly while I do some more ironing and mending. Lazy, but not too lazy.<\/p>\n

No intention of going out to the shops at all, so there will still be 81p left in the pot at midnight.<\/p>\n
