\"Tenner

It’s Day 2 of the latest Tenner Week budgeting challenge schedule<\/a><\/strong>, and today’s activity is called\u00a0A pane in the glass<\/strong>. Yep, let’s clean a window or two.<\/p>\n

If you don’t have much time, just give the indoor surface of one window a deep clean.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Move curtains or blinds out of the way.<\/li>\n
  2. Wipe around the top and sides of the window to get rid of marks, spider webs and dust. For more stubborn mess on double glazing surrounds, use cleaning fluid or UPVC cleaner cream from a hardware store.<\/li>\n
  3. Clean the window pane with proprietary window cleaner or distilled white vinegar, using a lint free cleaning cloth.<\/li>\n
  4. Dry the glass quickly to prevent smears and streaks. A clean, dry cloth is easiest, but some people swear by using newspaper.<\/li>\n
  5. Use extra cleaning fluid around the edges and corners of window panes if they have a buildup of dirt or mould. Get into the corners with an old toothbrush or cotton buds if there’s any stubborn dirt left after this.<\/li>\n
  6. Wipe indoor windowsills.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If you’re feeling like blitzing the place, clean a few more windows. You could also clean outdoor window surfaces if the weather isn’t too nasty.<\/p>\n

    I’ve cleaned my kitchen windows and the frosted glass panel above a door, following on from cleaning the tops of the kitchen cupboards and the extractor fan yesterday. Nothing like a sparkly clean kitchen in the Spring!<\/p>\n
