This only takes a few minutes, but it can save you all kinds of time and hassle, and it can also be a source of inspiration.<\/p>\n<p>One of the best things about Tenner Week is that it&#8217;s a chance to prevent waste, and it&#8217;s a reminder to think about all your available resources and make the most of them.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s start by looking at food and drink, as these can make or break your budget. What do you have in stock? Check the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fridge<\/li>\n<li>Cupboards<\/li>\n<li>Freezer<\/li>\n<li>Other food stores (larder, shed, under the stairs etc)<\/li>\n<li>Worktop canisters<\/li>\n<li>Biscuit barrel<\/li>\n<li>Bread bin<\/li>\n<li>Cake tin<\/li>\n<li>Fruit bowl<\/li>\n<li>Veg basket or trolley<\/li>\n<li>Windowsill herbs<\/li>\n<li>Kitchen garden or allotment<\/li>\n<li>Sweet jar<\/li>\n<li>Secret chocolate stash<\/li>\n<li>Wine rack<\/li>\n<li>Drinks cabinet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The most important thing to do is note down anything that&#8217;s likely to go off or spoil soon. Do you need to use it up right away? Can you freeze some of it?<\/p>\n<p>Now have a think about other things you have at your disposal to beat the post holiday blues, or to get ready for the end of summer Back to School Challenge. That could include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Subscriptions and memberships<\/li>\n<li>Books or other material you haven&#8217;t read yet<\/li>\n<li>Pampering products<\/li>\n<li>Fitness equipment<\/li>\n<li>Files, notepads and organisers<\/li>\n<li>Vouchers or loyalty points<\/li>\n<li>Art or craft materials<\/li>\n<li>Library cards<\/li>\n<li>Cleaning or decorating products etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also, decide whether you&#8217;d like to take part in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>optional TV diet<\/strong><\/a>.
