If you need extra information or just a quick reminder, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>full rules are here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Tenner Week schedule<\/h1>\n<p>The theme this time around is Bonus Points. These are some of the extra things you can do whenever you like to get the absolute best out of the challenge, but now we&#8217;re going to schedule in a specific new one to try each day.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what we&#8217;re going to be trying this week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Day 1: Eat healthily<\/strong> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week-jan-2018-day-1-eat-healthily\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">get your 5-a-day fruit &amp; veg, and make a weekly menu<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Day 2: Get your home into shape<\/strong> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week-jan-2018-day-2-get-home-shape\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">do a spot clean spring clean<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Day 3: Keep up your fitness levels<\/strong> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week-jan-2018-day-3-keep-fitness-levels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at least 30 mins of exercise<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Day 4: Being creative<\/strong> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week-jan-2018-day-4-creative\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">art, crafts, decorating or baking<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Day 5: Find a freebie<\/strong> &#8211; make the most of free samples, services, apps &amp; events<\/li>\n<li><strong>Day 6: Learn something new<\/strong> &#8211; listen and learn<\/li>\n<li><strong>Day 7: Rediscover an old hobby<\/strong> &#8211; reboot your resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A couple of top tips for a successful Tenner Week. Firstly, try to spend as little as possible right at the start of the week, and aim for a couple of no-spend days if you can. This makes it easier in case you run out of food towards the weekend, and it gives you some room for a small treat or some Saturday socialising.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly, one of the main aims of the Tenner Week challenge is to reduce waste. Make the most of what you already have, whether it&#8217;s gift vouchers, fitness equipment, subscriptions, tickets you&#8217;ve already bought, or anything else you can think of.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>The optional TV Diet<\/h2>\n<p>If you want to, you can also go on the TV Diet. This means less than 4 hours total in front of the telly during the whole week, but it doesn&#8217;t include a trip to the cinema or TV you watch during exercise such as at the gym.<\/p>\n<p>Now, it&#8217;s a cold and rainy January, so it&#8217;s completely understandable if you want to stay in, keep warm and max out that Netflix subscription if it&#8217;s all a bit much. It&#8217;s completely optional.<\/p>\n<p>However, if you do decide to cut back on the screen time, think about how you&#8217;re going to keep busy during the week. Reading? Fitness? Music? Spring cleaning? Up to you, but make sure you have things to do.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>A Sunday Stocktake<\/h1>\n<p>If you have time today, spend a few minutes going around your home to see what resources you have available to you for the rest of the week. Start by looking at food and drink, and making a list if you like.<\/p>\n<p>Places to check:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fridge<\/li>\n<li>Freezer<\/li>\n<li>Food cupboards<\/li>\n<li>Larder \/ pantry<\/li>\n<li>Bread bin<\/li>\n<li>Biscuit or cake tin<\/li>\n<li>Worktop canisters<\/li>\n<li>Fruit basket<\/li>\n<li>Veg store<\/li>\n<li>Drinks cabinet \/ trolley<\/li>\n<li>Wine rack<\/li>\n<li>etc etc<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also think about other resources you might have for entertainment, treats, and practical things such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vouchers<\/li>\n<li>Tickets and passes<\/li>\n<li>Books, Blu-Rays, games consoles, music and TV streaming etc<\/li>\n<li>Fitness equipment<\/li>\n<li>Cleaning materials<\/li>\n<li>DIY and mending kit<\/li>\n<li>Arts &amp; crafts materials<\/li>\n<li>Haircare, skincare, bath stuff<\/li>\n<li>&#8230;and anything that might help with the different days of the week&#8217;s schedule<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>That&#8217;s it for today.
