The new theme is <strong>Get set for the Summer<\/strong>, with all kinds of prep to get us ready for the warmer months. If you need a quick reminder of the Tenner Week rules, you can <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">find them here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As always, the idea is to try to get through the week with a personal budget of \u00a310 or less, and to prevent waste. There&#8217;s also an extra TV Diet if you&#8217;re feeling brave and would like to add an extra level to the challenge: just limit your at-home screen time to a maximum of four hours in total between Monday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Keeping busy is key, so there&#8217;s something different to try every day. All the activities are designed to be simple and quick if you want to breeze through them, but feel free to take as much time as you like. If you miss a day or two here and there, you can easily catch up at the weekend instead.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Daily Tenner Week schedule<\/h1>\n<p>The Sunday Stocktake isn&#8217;t officially part of this Tenner Week, but the details are below if you&#8217;d like to give it a go. The full week&#8217;s activities are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week-may-2018-day-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Summer reads<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Tuesday: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week-may-2018-day-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Picnic prep<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Wednesday: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week-may-2018-day-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Midweek pampering<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Thursday: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week-may-2018-day-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Get some exercise<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Friday: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week-may-2018-day-5\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Find a freebie<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Saturday: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week-may-2018-day-6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Social calendar<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Sunday: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/tenner-week-may-2018-day-7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Really relax<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There will be plenty of free things to try, and one or two non-compulsory low cost ideas here and there in case you have a pound or two to spare.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Sunday Stocktake exercise<\/h1>\n<p>If you have time today, make a list of what you already own that could get you through the next seven days. Prioritise going though your food stocks so that you can plan meals more easily and avoid food going off.<\/p>\n<p>For example, check the contents of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fridge<\/li>\n<li>Freezer<\/li>\n<li>Food cupboards<\/li>\n<li>Worktop canisters<\/li>\n<li>Bread bin<\/li>\n<li>Biscuit or cake tin<\/li>\n<li>Fruit bowl<\/li>\n<li>Kitchen garden \/ allotment<\/li>\n<li>Vegetable rack<\/li>\n<li>Larder \/ pantry<\/li>\n<li>Cupboard under the stairs<\/li>\n<li>Wine rack \/ drinks cabinet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You might also want to freeze some milk or bread so that it doesn&#8217;t go off before the end of the week. If you have time after this, try sketching out a weekly menu or do a little food prep such as making a packed lunch or some snack bars for tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are you feeling thrifty this week?
