Hopefully this will be a lovely relaxing end to the week, and you&#8217;ll wake up feeling refreshed tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Towards mid-evening, start winding down by doing any of these:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turning off bright lights and switching to softer lighting<\/li>\n<li>Playing softer or more relaxing music<\/li>\n<li>Tidying up your sleeping area so it&#8217;s calmer<\/li>\n<li>Avoiding blue light from devices such as mobile phones for at least an hour before bedtime<\/li>\n<li>Going to bed at a sensible time for you<\/li>\n<li>Avoiding large amounts of alcohol or caffeine, which can disrupt sleep<\/li>\n<li>Having a warm bath or shower before bed<\/li>\n<li>Listening to a relaxation recording or app<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Okay, there&#8217;s not much you can do if you&#8217;re booked on for a night shift or you have a newborn baby, but maybe you could schedule in a nap for today or tomorrow, or rest where you can.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25812 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Tenner-Week-Jan-2023-wind-down-well-bedtime-sleep.jpg\" alt=\"Tenner Week Jan 2023 wind down well bedtime sleep\" width=\"680\" height=\"680\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25812 lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Tenner-Week-Jan-2023-wind-down-well-bedtime-sleep.jpg\" alt=\"Tenner Week Jan 2023 wind down well bedtime sleep\" width=\"680\" height=\"680\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Tenner-Week-Jan-2023-wind-down-well-bedtime-sleep.jpg 680w, https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Tenner-Week-Jan-2023-wind-down-well-bedtime-sleep-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Tenner-Week-Jan-2023-wind-down-well-bedtime-sleep-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>What&#8217;s happening here<\/h2>\n<p>My plan for this evening is to have a proper wind down here, with a cosy mystery show on the telly, watched snuggled up on the sofa under our fluffiest blanket. Maybe by candlelight for extra relaxing vibes if I remember. Then I&#8217;ll switch my phone off before 10pm and go and read my new book &#8211; I&#8217;m currently enjoying <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3wK9uW9\"><strong>&#8216;Lessons in Chemistry&#8217; by Bonnie Garmus<\/strong><\/a> &#8211;\u00a0 for a while before it&#8217;s time for lights out.<\/p>\n<p>On the food front, we&#8217;re having some very retro fish finger sandwiches for lunch, which are definitely a guilty pleasure but also deliciously right for the end of January. There&#8217;s also just enough left in the freezer for Beau to make us a simple Sunday roast dinner later, and I think I&#8217;ll make a rhubarb crumble for afterwards with some chunks of last year&#8217;s frozen homegrown. Real stick to your ribs stuff.<\/p>\n<p>I still haven&#8217;t spent my last \u00a31.00, and at this point in proceedings I&#8217;m not sure whether I really need to, so I might not go to the newsagents after all.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Total spent so far this week<\/strong><\/em>: \u00a39.00.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Did you make it to the end of this week without going over your budget?
