It&#8217;s the drawer in most chests of drawers that&#8217;s usually the most forgotten and neglected, and it&#8217;s often the one that&#8217;s filled with a lot of clutter that we don&#8217;t need to hold on to any more.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/march-spirng-clean-jump-start-bottom-drawer.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3434 lazyload\" alt=\"march spirng clean jump start bottom drawer\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/march-spirng-clean-jump-start-bottom-drawer.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3434 lazyload\" alt=\"march spirng clean jump start bottom drawer\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/march-spirng-clean-jump-start-bottom-drawer.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/march-spirng-clean-jump-start-bottom-drawer.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.pennygolightly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/march-spirng-clean-jump-start-bottom-drawer-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/noscript><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, it&#8217;s time to tackle that overstuffed, junk-filled space.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the spring clean:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take everything out of the drawer<\/li>\n<li>Wipe the inside of the drawer clean, and allow to dry<\/li>\n<li>Add lining paper if you like<\/li>\n<li>Sort through the drawer contents and class them as &#8216;keep&#8217;, &#8216;throw away&#8217;, &#8216;sell&#8217; and &#8216;donate&#8217;. Be ruthless.<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;re keeping something, give it a wash or clean if it&#8217;s been sat in the drawer for longer than six months, then put it away where it belongs.<\/li>\n<li>Get the &#8216;throw away&#8217; items straight out into the bin or the recycling, don&#8217;t leave them sitting around in your home.<\/li>\n<li>Put anything in the &#8216;sell&#8217; category on sale within a week.<\/li>\n<li>Take anything you&#8217;ve decided to donate to the charity shop, collection point or depot within a week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;ve bagged up and taken some old t-shirts to the clothing donations bin around the corner, and now my drawer closes properly for once.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s the second day of this new Jump Start month, where we&#8217;re taking one small action each day to add up to significant change by the end of our March Spring Clean.
