Just use the right products and be gentle and persistent, and you\u2019ll still see good results.<\/p>\n<p>If you have an electric toothbrush, great. If not, spend a couple of minutes extra brushing your teeth with a manual toothbrush.<\/p>\n<p>There are lots of expensive \u2018whitening\u2019 toothpastes available in beauty stores and high street chemists, but they\u2019re mainly very overpriced and most of the cheaper ones will do the trick too.<\/p>\n<p>Try a pound shop for any of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Smoker\u2019s toothpaste (various brands)<\/li>\n<li>Pearl Drops whitening polish<\/li>\n<li>Theramed Pro Electric whitening<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are plenty of these in stock around the UK at the moment, so it\u2019s easy enough to get hold of them. They\u2019re perfectly good, and remember, the more expensive whitening brands work in just the same way \u2013 none of them have a bleaching effect.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re really, really stuck you could use a tiny bit of bicarbonate of soda on a dampened toothbrush for a minute or so to remove surface stains on teeth, but only do this if the grains are very fine and it\u2019s a one-off thing. You can do some serious damage otherwise, and it\u2019s not a good idea at all to do anything like this even semi-regularly.<\/p>\n<p>Ideally, use a stain-removing toothpaste, and remember to floss as well.
